Diagnosing Dryer No Spin Complaints

Symptom: Dryer motor does not run.

When you are diagnosing a no spin

complaint on any Samsung dryer, we

recommend you begin troubleshooting

from the Main PCB and work your way

down. Note that if there is no DE or DO

door error code displayed, you can elimi-

nate the door switch as the cause of the

problem without making any tests. Con-

firm this by pressing the Start button with

the door open. Also make sure the belt

is on the drum. If the belt has come off,

see Bulletin ASC20100624001

The parts in the motor circuit:

 Main PCB

 Belt switch

 TH1 thermostat

 Motor

 Door switch

Locate the main PCB mounted to the left

of the drum. Identify the motor relay,

which has a brown and a black wire on it

(Circled, right.). Note that 120vac will be

present in the black wire because it is

the same connector that supplies L1 to

the low voltage transformer that powers

up the display. Place your meter leads

across the relay and press Start. If your

meter stays at 120vac, the problem is
