Metering

ƅ If you cannot obtain suitable exposure conditions, you can change the metering

method to take brighter pictures.

- MULTI : Exposure will be calculated based on

an average of the available light in the

image area. However, the calculation

will be biased towards the centre of the

image area. This is suitable for general

use.

- SPOT : Only the rectangular area in the centre

of the LCD monitor will be metered for

light. This is suitable when you want the subject in the centre

correctly exposed, regardless of the back lighting.

- CENTER : Exposure will be calculated based on an average of the available

light in the image area. However, the calculation will be biased

towards the centre of the image area. This is suitable for taking a

picture of small object like a flower or insects.

ż If the subject is not the centre of the focus area, do not use the spot metering

as this may result in an exposure error. In this circumstance, it is better to use

exposure compensation.

Continuous shot

ƅ You can select the type of shooting and the number of continuous shots.

- SINGLE : Take one picture only

- CONTINUOUS : Images will be taken continuously

until the shutter button is released.

The shooting capacity depends on

the memory.

- HIGH SPEED : This takes 3 shots continuously

(2.5 shots per second) when the

shutter is pressed and held down.

- M. CAPTURE : This takes 7.5 shots per second, when the shutter is pressed

and held down. After completing the continuous shooting,

images are saved and the images play back on the Rear

LCD. The maximum number of shots is 20 and the image

size is fixed as 1024X768.

- AEB : Take three pictures in a series using different exposures: standard

exposure, short exposure (-1/2EV) and over exposure (+1/2EV).

Use this mode if it is hard to decide exposure of the object.

ż High resolution and picture quality increases file saving time, which increases

stand-by time.

ż If the [CONTINUOUS], [HIGH SPEED], [M. CAPTURE] or [AEB] sub menu is

selected, the flash is switched off automatically.

ż It is best to use a tripod for the AEB shooting as the time to save each image

file is longer and blurring caused by camera shake may occur.

ż When the [M.CAPTURE] menu is selected, you can only select AUTO,

ISO 400, 800 or 1000.
