Finalising a disc
After you record titles onto a DVD-RW/±R disc with your DVD recorder, it
needs to be nalised before it can be played back on external devices.
1. With the DVD Recorder in Stop mode, press the MENU button.
2. Press the
▲▼
buttons to select Disc Manager, then press the OK or
►
button.
3. Press the
▲▼
button to select Disc Finalise, then press the OK or
►
button.
4. Press the
◄ ►
buttons to select Ye s , then press the OK button.
You will be prompted again with the message “Disc will be nalised. Do you
want to continue?”.
5. Press the
◄ ►
buttons to select Ye s , then press the OK button.
The disc is nalised.
Once a disc is nalised, you cannot delete entries from the record list.
After being nalised, the DVD±R/DVD-RW(video mode) operates in
the same manner as a DVD-Video.
Depending on the disc type, the displayed screen may be di erent.
Finalising time may be di erent depending on the amount of data
recorded on the disc.
Data on the disc will be damaged if the recorder is powered o during
nalise process.
You can nalise automatically using EZ REC MODE. (see page 41)
Un nalising a disc (V/VR mode)
1. With the DVD Recorder in Stop mode, press the MENU button.
2. Press the
▲▼
buttons to select Disc Manager, then press the OK or
►
button.
3. Press the
▲▼
button to select Disc Un nalise, then press the OK or
►
button.
You will be prompted with the message “Do you want to un nalise disc?”.
4. Press the
◄ ►
buttons to select Ye s , then press the OK button.
You will be prompted again with the message “Disc will be un nalised. Do
you want to continue?”.
5. Press the
◄ ►
buttons to select Ye s , then press the OK button.
The disc is un nalised.
A DVD-RW can be nalised or un nalised in Video mode.
