Cleaning and Disinfecting of Plastic Biopsy Kit
Cleaning
1. After use, remove the biopsy kit from the probe.
2. Disassemble the biopsy kit into its component parts, if applicable. Disposable parts cannot be
disinfected and must be disposed of.
3. Using a small brush and water, scrub each part to remove trapped material from the reusable
components.
4. Rinse with water to remove remaining contaminants.
Disinfection
CAUTION: Plastic biopsy kits can only be disinfected by using a low-temperature chemical
sterilizing solution. Disinfection by autoclaving, or by using gas or radiation, will cause
damage to the product.
Please refer to the user instructions of the disinfectant for details of proper storage, use, and
disposal of the disinfectant.
1. Check the disinfection duration (generally 10 hours) and temperature of the disinfectant.
2. After disinfection, follow the proper post-disinfection procedure for the disinfection method
used.
3. Inspect the components for corrosion, breakage, and other damages. If damage is discovered,
please contact the Samsung Medison customer support department.
