Capturing Nokia Handsets

Certain Nokia Handsets require special adapters in

order to extract data. This section deals with two

major topics: Installing the CA-42 Cable and using

Nokia Flash adapters to connect to a handset.

Nokia CA-42 Cable Installation

The Nokia CA-42 Cable that is provided with

CellDEK is different than the other cables. It

resides in the storage compartment and not in the

connector rack. As such it needs to be installed on

the CellDEK prior to use. To install the cable:

1. Boot the CellDEK to the Main Application

Screen.

2. Attach the CA-42 Cable to the USB port.

Wait for the USB connection tone. (It may

take over a minute for the tone to be heard).

3. Remove the cable. It is now ready to be

used for extractions!

Nokia Flash Adapters

The CellDEK is able to connect to certain Nokia

handsets through the use of specialized adapters

from Nokia. Refer to chapter 7 for a list of Nokia

handsets that are supported and the corresponding

adapters.
